Landlords and Letting Agents

All new lettings of rental properties are required to provide evidence of the building’s energy performance through an EPC.  There is a fine for non-compliance.  The certificate allows prospective tenants to form an opinion of the potential energy costs of your property versus others available at the time.

 

Estate Agents and Solicitors

Domestic properties being sold require an EPC.  Whilst an EPC delivers useful information for your client’s prospective purchaser, providing one shouldn’t be an administrative burden to your business.

 

Homeowner

EPCs have two areas of value to homeowners.  Firstly, they are a requirement when selling or renting your home.  Secondly, they provide excellent guidance on how to improve the energy efficiency of your home to save money as well as reduce ecological damage.

Who can deliver an EPC?

Qualified Energy Assessors are responsible for carrying out assessments and producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). An  Energy Assessors must be members of an accreditation scheme and have the appropriate qualifications or competence for the type of work they carry out.

 

Chiltern PSC are accredited to conduct domestic energy assessments and issue EPCs and are accredited with Stroma.

What does an EPC assessment by Chiltern PSC involve?

A Chiltern PSC energy assessor will visit the property to conduct an energy assessment for an existing building.  During the assessment they will collect information and photos on the property, which includes details of its dimensions, construction and heating/hot water systems.  This information is fed into an approved software programme which produces the EPC and recommendation report.  The assessor will then record the certificate onto the national register and provide the customer with a copy.

 

The certificate is then ready to be given to the homeowners or made available to prospective buyers or tenants.

The price varies according to the size and nature of the property to be assessed, but an energy assessment from Chiltern PSC are priced from £50.00. We are not registered for VAT
