HOME ENERGY RATING ASSESSMENTS under PART L1a and PART L1b of the BUILDING REGULATIONS 2010
1. Home Energy Rating assessments are prepared in accordance with the Building Regulations 2010 Parts L1a and L1b (as amended) together with conventions contained in SAP 2012 for SAP version 9.92.
2. Clients are responsible for providing the required information to enable the On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor to carry out the Home Energy Rating assessment. An overview of the information needed can be found by clicking on the following links.
3. The Home Energy Rating assessments are prepared by the On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor upon the information submitted by Clients and it is the Client’s duty to ascertain from the reports produced that the input information is correct.
4. The Home Energy Rating assessments are prepared with software and issued by personnel under licence as approved by the Secretary of State indicated by the use of the SAP logo, and On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor are trained, tested and examined by approved persons. There is regular monitoring of On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor by Elmhurst Energy Services which operates the National Home Energy Rating quality assured scheme recognised by the British Standards Institute.
5. It should be noted that home energy rating assessments are based upon information supplied to the On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor and are in no manner an endorsement of a particular product or system. It is for the Client to make that judgement. For example, an improved wall ‘U’-value may be obtained by using a wall block with a better conductivity. However, that wall block may not suit the structural requirements of that situation.
6. On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor shall undertake home energy rating assessments with reasonable care skill and diligence. No liability can be accepted for errors arising therefrom. Under the Building Regulations it is the responsibility of the Builder to ensure that the project meets the required standards.
7. On Construction Energy Assessor are required to keep printed copies of plans on file for audit purposes and consequently do not return plans sent to us, unless previously agreed in writing.
8. On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor operates under a Code of Conduct issued by Elmhurst Energy Services from whom a complete copy of the Code of Conduct for On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor may be obtained.
9. Complaints will be dealt with courteously and with haste. Please refer to our complaint procedure.
10. Rating Calculations are based upon four stages.
a) Design Draft,
b) Design Final,
c) As-Built Draft
d) As-Built Final.
11. Fees quoted will be initially be payable upon presentation of the Design-Final reports and shall be settled by the Client in full within 30 days of the date of the invoice. Additional fees, may, in some cases be payable upon presentation of As-Built Final reports and shall be settled by the Client in full within 30 days of the date of the invoice. No Design Final or As Built Final stage documentation will normally be released in advance of receipt of payment and all such documentation remains the intellectual property of Chiltern PSC until payment is received. We reserve the right to charge 10% interest per month plus administration & legal costs on unpaid invoices.
